Like other muscles, the mind requires continual exercise and conditioning. We accomplish this by focusing on activities that encourage creativity, promote stimulation, and foster a sense of emotional balance. Some examples include taking a course, learning a language, painting, journaling, and finding a hobby.
While stimulating the mind is crucial, it's equally important to understand our emotions and practice stress management, which can help us control our stress response.
